I watched the flick 3 or 4 times one weekend after renting it from Blockbuster. I firmly believe that the scenario is true to life in the sense that it could happen and may have happened in some fashion. Throughout history mankind's ability and proclivity for intrigue and betrayal are evident. There are many good movies which delve into the treacherous nature of our fellow beings. check out "The Parallax (sp.) View". It is an older flick with a young Warren Beatty. Should bring to mind the cover up of the John F. Kennedy assassination. On a similar note, check into the attack on Pearl Harbor. There is plausible evidence that our government was well aware of the planned attack but let it happen. Back to "Syriana", look at the present inflated gasoline prices situation. Check out the Nick Cage flick, "Warlord" (I think it is). Profiteers involved in every war of modern times. The mass murders of Jewish folk, gypsies, mentally challenged people (including countless numbers of children with disorders such as autism), and others designated as enemies of the state or undesirables were supported by people and businesses still alive and well in Germany. The European Union will contribute to the assault on Jerusalem. Like the poster in Muldaur's office in "The X-Files" exclaimed, "Trust no one."

I can certainly believe that the world portrayed in Syrianna is very much like our real world. The movie offers us a very good insight on what is going on today, as scary as it may be.
The only part I don't buy is the CIA actually being able to hit a target, in the first try, with only one missile. That would never happen on the real world.

It is pretty much Hollywood propaganda. Make sure to keep your critical thinking skills up when you expose yourself to any source of media.
