so on my dads laptop whenever i turn it on this weird advertisement popup thing shows up and its from like www.popcorn.net and it keeps saying like ur 3 day free trial has expired click continue to purchase your license and get rid of these reminders.. well is it like a spyware or something?

Obviuosly is a spyware. Go search the net you will get a lot of free spyware blasters. download them scan your pc and you will be done. Uninstall them after you are; coz they might continue to stop some of sites you are trying to get into n cause headache to you while surfing or chatting, assuming the chat windows as pop ups. It's spyware, and I've had my Norton Anti virus detect this particular site.Your Dad should be using a pop up blocker.

maybe your dad subscribed to it and the log-in session has expired and now they're just letting you know about it... maybe tell your dad, and that the laptop needs some kind of pop-up blocker, sometimes they can cause viruses.....
