I too like Abercrombie and Hollister. They're good for really trendy items, but they're also great for basics.
Forever 21 is a really fun store too. Lots of cute, cheap trendy stuff.
I love the stuff that they sell at Urban Outfitters. Brands such as Lux and Kimchi & Blue have some really pretty clothes.

Lacoste, Diesel, Urban Outfitters, Theory. Banana Republic and H&M for basics. Puma and lululemon for sports and pilates.
