I have read the Count of Monte Cristo and I absolutely loved it. It is one of my personal favorites. I know that the 3 Musketeers is a classic but I haven't read it. The other book I read by Alexandre Dumas is Joseph Balsamo which is lovely, it is true master piece. I highly recommend his books.

I read the Three Musketeers, and the Count of Monte Cristo. Both fantastic books. I have the sequel to 3 Musketeers on my To Be Read list, too (Something like "20 years Later", I have it in French, not sure what the English title is)

Great classics, and you learn a lot about French history at the same time.

Yes, I've read the Three Musketeers and the Count of Monte Cristo. I liked the Three Musketeers better, but the Count of Monte Cristo was still amazing. However, I've only ever read the abridged edition of Monte Cristo, but I'm planning on reading the full version soon.
I would recommend either of them to anyone who wants a good read.

I've read the Three Musketeers, Twenty Years After (being the sequel), and part of Ten Years Later (being the final part), all in french. I really liked the first one, the second was'nt quite as good, I thought, and the third has more of the elements I didn't like from the second, namely, they're on different sides, plus D'Artagnan doesn't seem quite as heroic in the third.

I read both The Three Musketeers and The Count of Monte Cristo. I liked them both, but TCMC much more. It reminds me of The Great Gatsby.

I hate to be the killjoy, but I wasn't thrilled with either The Three Musketeers or The Count of Monte Cristo. I really wanted to like them - I love the history and the adventure, but the writing just didn't do it for me. It felt choppy - like he started writing, then put it down for a while, picked it up, and rewrote bits, and no one edited it. The repetition was distracting. It may have been because they were written as serial novels for the newspapers, or because he didn't write them all himself - he worked with ghostwriters. For whatever reason, I didn't enjoy the books.

the rationalization components do not agree is that the subsequent e book, The Vicomte of Bragelonne: Ten Years Later, is so long that it rather is as a rule split into smaller books. it fairly is been split into 3, 4, or 5 volumes at different factors. interior the three-quantity version, the novels are titled The Vicomte de Bragelonne, Louise de l. a. Vallière, and the guy interior the Iron mask. interior the 4-quantity version, the novels are titled The Vicomte de Bragelonne, Ten Years Later, Louise de l. a. Vallière, and the guy interior the Iron mask. The 5-quantity version frequently does not supply titles to the smaller parts.
