In the 1920's Adi Dassler invented Adidas...his brother Rudolf invented invented Puma sports shoes...check out Wikipedia --it provides a nice source of history.

I don't think RUNNING shoes were something invented. I think it was more just an evolution of the shoe. Something better for performance.

I guess noone ever saw the movie Prefontaine?!?! Coach Bowerman, from Oregon, made the first shoe designed specifically for running. He used his wifes' waffle irons to make the waffle print shoe. (which i thought was pretty funny)

I don't think they were really ever invented. They just evolved from the basic shoe over time.

if i truly remember, Dunlop invented it from a wheel.he had a shoe factory already.but he was only making stout leather.one day he notices that plastic is the best way to protect feet from the stones on our way.that's only what i know:)but i may tell wrong.you better search it yourself in web.you can use ansyclopedias too.
