I'm not a huge fan, but he seems to disappear rather than be killed. Maybe it's answered in V or VI.

Vader's saber terminates the living flesh of Kenobi, but the Jedi's spirit lives on, as one can see in the sequels when he revisits Luke on Hoth and then Dagobah. One might say that Ben's midichlorions have left his body and traveled out into the ether to rejoin the collective sould of all other passed Jedi's. But that's speculation.

Yes Obi Wan gets killed in a Lightsaber Duel with Darth Vader and His Body is Consumed By the force which was one of the Last things taught to him by yoda who in turn got the info from Quigon jin

It is thought that Kenobi vanished into the force to teach Luke a lesson, about how there is no death, there is only the Force.
This allowed him to become a force ghost.
The Force ghost was the apparition of a deceased Jedi who became one with the Force and retained his individuality.

Obi Wan lets Vader "kill" his body, but continues on as a "Force Ghost".
The movies allude to the possibilities of this at the end of episode three.

He is killed, for jedis who are stong enough in the force thier bodies become materialized into the force upon death instead of being alowed to decompoze naturaly, yoda does the same thing in episode 6

yeah he does kill him but then he feels bad about it and falls to the ground clutching him close to his chest screaming "whyyyyyyyyyy?"
