What I find most amusing, is one someone throws a label on another person, ignoring both the meaning of the word and the fact that the person being labeled doesn't agree.
When people can make up whatever meaning they want for the words and labels they throw around, those words become meaningless. Which devolves the entire conversation to mindless shouting.

OK, let's get this straight folks: neither "the Liberals" or "the Conservatives" speak for a majority of Americans. Neither of the current proponents of these philosophies at opposite ends of the spectrum understand the principals of compromise that are a necessary function of our Republic. They are intolerant, impatient, rude, and insist theirs is the ONLY way - goosestepping to the latest jingoist pap being spewed from their mentors - not unlike the jihadist. Most Americans are mature enough to recognize that we don't get everything we want all the time. That like it or not, in order to get along and thrive as individuals and among nations, there has to be give and take. These pseudo "patriots" only believe in giving orders and taking control. So, enjoy your time in the limelight "Conservatives" and "Liberals". The rest of America is about fed up with you and your days are numbered - by the ballot!

I can't remember a point in history when there was this much animosity between the two major parties. Is it possible to support the war effort and still support stem-cell research? Not according to the so-called leadership of the Democraps and Repooplicans.

It is very sickening. Just imagine if more time was spent trying to work together to solve these major issues we face today instead of spewing hatred. We'll always disagree but would be nice to act like adults and be able to converse in an intelligent manner.

It's possible, but what's the point? It's stupid to want to stop wars just so we can have peace. That's like saying that you want to quit playing a game just because you're losing.

Yes, it would be nice to have a civil debate here on Yahoo without being insulted.
Alas, such civility won't be achieved anytime soon

People are learning, I hope, that we must all agree to no longer sanction any person, any group, any faith, any economic paradigm, any law or any government that hates. We rose above cannibalism. We rose above human sacrifice. We rose above slavery. We must rise above hate.
