Excellent question. Thank you for having the courage and wisdom to ask it. In this politically correct world, not many could do so.
Along with Islam being hijacked by the radical extremists, the United Nations has been hijacked by the extremist countries. Muammar Gaddafi of Lybia is one of the few that 'gets it'.
The International Court of Justice is as corrupt (if not more so) than the United Nations itself. The cause of Islam and anti-semetism seem to have run-amuck in the ICJ. Like with so many other issues in our world today, we have lost our moral compass.
The heavy handed dictators you mentioned, along with North Korea's Kim Jong Ill and Venezuala's Hugo Chavez can threaten anyone, anywhere, anytime and we are supposed to just ignore it. I find it interesting that at the same time we are supposed to be dealing with bullies on our schools playgrounds, we are supposed to ignore bullies when they get to be leaders of a country. Part of the problem is the ICJ is not administering justice as much as it is in the business of rendering political statements.
Words have consequences. And threats should be taken seriously. I can assure you, Israel takes all threats seriously. They must. It is their survival that is at stake. Regrettably, when the very survival of the United States is at hand, maybe the politcally correct in this country will 'get it' too. Hopefully it won't be too late by then.
Look at how much disarray the world had to get into leading up to World War II before Hitler was dealt with. Some seem to have not learned anything from that era. That is why I appreciate the current Bush Administration for having the 'courage' to take on some of these issues in the world rather than just ignoring them as the previous administration did.
For the United States to have a chance at all in todays world, we need another conservative leader in the White House in 08. Not another Clinton or Carter.
