I am talking proper burial here - coffin, six feet under - the works.
Could you perhaps use a belt buckle to scratch through the coffin lid? Shout for help? Make friends with the worms and enlist their help?

If you are worried about being buried alive, then you must absolutely get that "get buried with an activated, high-powered battery, back-lighted cell phone" option.
Flash-light, oxygen reserve and a map of your location not included.
Buyers beware : if that option is offered by a crematorium, it is a scam !

Some people were getting buried alive. So to counter that they created some devise that can be activated from the coffin that would signal others to dig them up. Don't think they do that anymore, but if your worried you can put that stipulation in your will. I seen it on a t.v. documentary once. So it's possible with that, but not by any other means. You would run out of oxygen before you could dig out.

Hmm, well, like that guy said, Uma did!!! So if you were a kung-fu (or some other form of martial arts), or if you were just very strong, you could punch your way out of the coffin. And if you were scared and determined enough, your adrenaline energy could get so high that you experience a sense of strength like you have never have before in your life. People have been known to be able to lift cars by themselves because of adrenaline. =^^= And the belt buckle? I dunno, I suppose it's a possibility.

yes after having been buried at least 7 times and come back from the dead every single time---finding my way out of coffins has been the least of my problems.
and yes i rather like worms

I would say you would be plumb out of luck, but there is probably something I am missing here or you wouldn't be asking this question. People are not buried without being embalmed and that would insure them being dead.
