the marriage is still legal however the person making the false statements is subject to prosecution for fraud, and or lying on a legal government document!

It is probably legal however false information could be used as a cause for divorce if one party wanted out of the marriage...

If you were not married at the time. and you used your real name, then the marriage is legal. It can well be used as a reason to get a divorce.
