When a batsman gets out, he will be in is very depressed and while walking back to the pavillion he will be either cursing himself for the way he played which resulted him to be out or the bowler who has taken his wicket. Hence he will be in no mood either to acknowledge the next batsman or to think anything else other than his dismissal

some batsmen r too ambitious, while some are too humble. The one who finds the mid way of both qualities is called legend with sportsmanship. I am sure such person would surely acknowledge next batsman regardless the position he will bat on.

Most batsmen are very annoyed at losing their wicket, so they don't want to speak to anybody after just being dismissed. It is generally accpeted that the batsman dismissed will decide when he is ready to be sociable again. I have played with guys who are like: "Oh well" and join in the conversation in the rooms straight away. And others who won't speak to anybody for hours arfter losing their wicket.....

some do, but most are wrapped up in their own world lamenting the shot they took to get themselves out, and the other is concentrating and getting into the right frame of mind for his innings
