Sure you can! But just make sure that you can live with the fact that you harmed your baby for no good reason other than being impatient enough that you waited this long and you couldn't stand just a little while longer to see that precious face. So instead of letting nature take it's course, you harmed your own child and caused an infection that caused him to get sick and possibly killed him!

Don't try to break your water! I'm sorry your that uncomfortable. Maybe this should be your lat child if you can't handle it.

NO NO NO NO NO NO NO

First off.....chance of infection.
Second off.....chance of hemmorhage.
Next.....you could injure your baby!
AND.....your water breaking puts you on the clock to give birth. They'll want you to have the baby within 24 hours of your water breaking. If your body and your baby are not ready, trying to force yourself into labor could lead to complications and a c-section!!!!!

PLEASE don't try to do this! There are too many possibilities for a BAD outcome.

TRUST your body and your baby to know when it is time for labor to come. No woman has ever been pregnant forever. ALL babies DO eventually come out.

AND.....labor is much easier with your bag of water intact. The contractions are much more comfortable when the bag of water is still there. The longer you labor with your bag intact, the better!

AND....if you are GBS+ you would increase the chances of baby getting the infection as well.

By breaking your own waters you will put yourself and your baby at a very high risk....risk to all sorts of things primarily infection. The amniotic sac is what protects your baby and when your baby is reday to be born that sac will break..it's inevitable...it's going to happen but don't force it. As many have said, when your waters have broken you will need to be in the care of professionals who will aid the delivery of baby. It sounds like you've had it...I know how you feel..being 39 weeks and totally fedup...you need to just rest and hang in there. Speak to your doctor about options..they may be able to help. Good luck.

Sounds like you are ready to stop being pregnant. You must be
getting close to your time. Relax as best as you can and just be patient. Let everything happen naturally. Whatever you do,
do not try and break your water bag yourself. You wouldn't like the results. If you really can't wait anymore talk to your doctor about other options. That would be the smart thing to do.
Congratulations on your pending motherhood.

you never want to do that. You can put harm to yourself or the baby. Just let nature take it course. The only time to break your water is either by itself or if you're having complication and the doctors will break the water for you.

Absolutely not! There is no guarantee that if you did break your waters that your labor would start, plus, once that membrane has ruptured-you must deliver within 24hrs to avoid serious problems for you and your baby. Talk to a health professional to see what they would recommend about rupturing your membranes. Once that protective fluid is gone both mom and baby need to be in capable hands in case something goes awry!

No. Thats the worse thing to do. You have to be patient. If you break your own water and the baby isn't ready to come then it could get sick, so could you. Just wait.

I wouldn't chance it. You could cause infection on top of other problems. When my waters broke, I gave birth within the next 10 minutes. It could all be too quick for you.

That could cause an infection for you or your baby. Wait for the baby or the doctor!
