Not if the world comes together to help banish abject poverty in the third world by helping establish an economic infrastructure that provides opportunity to these migrants in their own homelands.

In life, you can only ignore a problem for so long before it shows up on your doorstep...

Millions of people are unable to access food, clean water, education, medical attention, safety from bloodshed, and opportunities for economic advancement in sub-saharan Africa. Can you really blame them for risking their lives to escape such conditions?

We all have the power to stop these problems by getting involved before they reach the extreme you mention in your question. We can support foundations that are trying to make a difference like the One Campaign and Debt Aid Trade Africa.

Take care.
