No. Many have shut down here, so the only ones around are the biggest and most popular ones that have been around for years.
I think there's so much competition out there for forms of entertainment that it's hard for bowling alleys to compete. The total number of bowlers is probably too small to support several different alleys like there were back in the day.

The bowling alley that I bowl at is actually quite the oppossite.. Its an old-fashioned family-owned, and I believe its been there close to 50 years. Though it is modern in some aspects -- its got automated scoring and pinsetters, and stuff... So I'm not saying its like walking into a bowling alley 50 years ago... But at the same time, it still has wooden lanes (not the newer synthetics), and some older equipment.
I grew up at this bowling alley though, and its like family to me.. Unfortunately, I dont think its going to last much more than another 5 years or so. The town is looking to buy the property for a marina thats behind it for parking and stuff, idk... But thats been going on for years. Also I've been hearing rumors that the guy that owns it is getting ready to retire and go down to florida. So I got a feeling in another few years he's goin to take the money from the town and run, and it will be gone. I wish I had the money to buy it off from him, I'd double whatever the town was giving him, cuz I'd hate to see that bowling alley be tore down.
But I know thats a big reason why certain things should be replaced there, but arent, such as new seats and stuff. I mean, little things, but I guess he feels it doesnt matter anymore...
Anyways, in answer to your question, none that have been put up within the last 10 years anyway. But there are a few in the area with newer equipment and stuff like that. I dont wanna bowl synthetic though, I like the challenge of the wooden lanes, and unfortunately the alley where I go know is the only wooden one in the area.

no. only activity with them is one closed and the other got torn down.
bowling is ok, but is generally managed by idiots. Once the equipment becomes outdated, they do not replace or repair, just scrap it.
