(1) They pretty much weed out the throwupish type people before they get into the program phases of the training. A couple of rides in the back seat of an F-15 with an agressive aerobatic pilot and you will know if you are in danger of launching your oatmeal in a radical maneuver.

(2) Liftoff is not a maneuver that tends to make people nauseous. Some people may black out in high accelleration modes, but as noted above, they pretty much weed those folks out before they get near the real spacecraft.

(3) Some people blow lunch when they first get into zero gravity. They will have been screened/trained in the program, but it can still happen. If you are in a pressurized cabin, you can clean up to some extent. If you are closed in the suit and in conditions in which you cannot open the visor, you get used to what it feels like to have puked in your own face. Exhale through your nose and try not to sneeze.

Funny I always thought the two rules were:

Rule 1: No matter what, NEVER get sick inside a sealed spacesuit.
Rule 2: Should unforeseen circumstances arise and you feel you absolutely must get sick, refer to Rule 1.

they have a checklist to follow before lift off, so I am sure those in the tower ask them if they feel nauseous before beginning the count down... then if it does happen, I'm sure that is when they say over the radio controls.. "Houston, we have a problem"
