We like the classics (sinatra, etta james, dean martin, tony bennett, nat cole) but would like to find updated versions of old classics(buble, botti, harry connick jr, others?) that are a little less ballad.

example - "What are you doing the rest of your life" sinatra and others have done it - (written by the bergmans i think)

Great lyrics, but very ballad / atonal. it recently showed up here in the new diamond campaign, http://journey.adiamondisforever.com/ which is better, but not quite there yet, still ballad...

please help!

Did anyone actually read your question?? None of those suggestions match the kind of music you guys both enjoy! I think that something like a wedding song is such a personal thing to choose that it can't be chosen or suggested by someone on here that hardly knows you. If you don't already have a song that's special to you both why dont you sit down and find a song that represents your story, or something that you've been through together..

If I have to suggest a song I would say 'Almost like being in love...'

Well usually one chooses the song one thinks of as "our song" nothing else really matters It should recall some emotion and joy for YOU the couple for example at my wedding our first dance was the theme to The Godfather laugh if you will but my husband turned to me many years ago while we were in a theater watching the original Godfather and said marry me ?! The theme swelled at that moment we both began to cry hugged each other and set the date after at an Italian bistro truth...

"The Anniversary Waltz" used to be a favorite.

Oh how we danced on the night we were wed.
We vowed our true love, though a word wasn't said.
The world was in bloom; there were stars in the skies
Except for the few that were there in your eyes.
Dear, as I held you so close in my arms,
Angels were singing a hymn to your charms
Two hearts, gently beating, were murmuring low
My darling, I love you so.

There is a second stanza, but I can recall only a few words of it.

Most couples have their "song" and they play that for the first dance. Don't you guys have a song yet??
