both are excellent brands and constantly changing. They push each other to do better things. I would be happy with either although I usually go for amd as i find they give more bang for your buck.

Everyone has their opinion on this one. Most gamers prefer AMD . Their chips seem to work better with a lot of PC games. AMD also seems to load the computer faster. However, for the "business world" .. and its needs .. most people prefer the Intel products. By the way, if you wait until later this fall to purchase a computer .. Intel is coming out with a NEWER dual chip that is suppose to be much faster than anything AMD currently has out there. You can find more info on this in most online PC magazines .. like pcworld.com Also keep in mind that there is a new software program coming out this Fall or Early Winter from Microsoft called Vista. It will slowly replace the Windows XP series. It uses a lot more hard drive space .. so if you are thinking of purchasing a new computer and if you can wait until early Winter of 2007 .. I would highly recommend waiting. Good luck ! :)

you get what you pay for. amd is fine, as is intel. i personally prefer intel, but am using an amd because it was already in the hardware when i got it. as for capability, they are fairly comparable, though intel has more innovative technology before amd does.
