I'm sure your hammy can live for a week without food. Humans can live days without food, but do we like the feeling of hunger? No matter how many days a hamster can live without food, they hate being hungry. Just stating the facts. :) When going away, there should be a care taker for your hamster. If it's not possible, buy those honey hamster sticks which are wooden sticks covered in hamster food mix, stuck together with honey. Never leave your hamster alone for more than 4 days, though. Get a HUGE hamster water bottle because hamsters run and bounce everywhere and get tired easily, especially thirsty. Hamster hoard their food, so I think your hamster didn't eat ALL of its food. :) Don't leave fresh food with it, for the fresh food will rot and stink. Keep doors more secure than usual because hamsters go CRAZY when they are given no attention for a period of time and have the instinct of escaping. I used bulldog clips to secure my hamster's wire cage doors. You can use tape as well. If your vacation is more than 4 days, you have to get someone to take care of it like a friend or relative. Have fun on your vacation, and don't worry about your precious hammy! :D

At most a day, that is if they have their cheeks stuffed with extra.
You should be giving them fresh food and water at least once a day.

Well if it isnt eating then it is best if you go to the vets and they can feed it if you dont want it to die. if not then a week

if its gone missing it will find food,if you have run out of food you can feed it breakfast cereal,dried biscutes ,nuts ,cat or dog biscutes,anything really
