think of anything. I really respect them except for the rude and loud nasty ones that hate everyone and them selves. What do you think about that?

I respect what the people are going thru. I feel you should be able to do what you want if it doesn't harm anything or anyone and this is what this they are doing.
Oh...If you are going to come at me in a f*cked way. I will call you on it with out a doubt. Aight?

the hate comes from religions. the bible says that it is a sin to be with someone of the same gender..God made Adam and Eve, not Adam and Steve. i have a lot of gay friends.

I think alot of people confuse hate with non acceptence. For example, I have been accused of hating people that were homosexuals and of being a " homophobe." I don't hate anyone just because they are homosexuals and I do not fear homosexuals. Real stupid accusation. But I don't and won't condone, nor accept homosexuality as normal. As a Christian, I believe in what god says. If I didn't, I would be a lousy Christian. God says it is more than just a sin, " It is an abomination unto the Lord." I am not going to be so arrogant to tell God that He is wrong. I don't put a judgement of condemnation on you. As a Christian, I will witness to you, and if you refuse to accept, then the discussion is over. Where I get upset is when I see so called gay parades and it looks like a porno convention for freaks. I don't want my grand kids to see this and neither does my son. I also don't llike it when the liberal left wants to force my grandson to learn how to properly use a condom when he is in the 3rd grade and teach him some kids have 2 mommies instead of a mom and a dad. The lib left talks about freedom but is quick to want to take away our freedoms. That may be why some people get a little hostile. We get sick of the crap that goes on. This so called gay marraige is another one. The vote of the people say no and then you go to the communist organization the ACLU to take it to court to get an activist lib judge to overthrow the will of the people. Do you see a connection here? People don't like it when we are forced to accept what is against our moral beliefs.

I think it's because people don't understand it. Like in The Day the Earth Stood Still proved, if humans don't understand something they will try to destroy it. And putting religion in it doesn't make it any better. In the end it all comes down to, "To each his own." And for the reason some are self-hating it may be because of how society see them. If you are constantly told you are crap by everyone, and in some cases the people they love, you start believing it. It's really sad. And in reality reliogion seems to be the only obstacle to homosexuality. And don't start on gay marriage being wrong, if you really wanted to keep marriage sacred you would get rid of divorce, which is also seen as wrong by the church, don't contradict yourself. And why is it that two people that hate each other can get married, but two people that really love each other can't. In the end it all comes down to "Humans will automatically try to destroy what they can't understand."

I don`t hate anyone, people can be anything they want, I do have a problem with the ones who try so hard to make sure the public see them all over each other, I believe sex should be something that goes on behind closed doors, our sex life should be private, But some people go to extreams to make sure that everyone knows what they are. these are the ones I believe, that are just doing it because they think its cool, these are also the ones a few years later that deside their not really gay. If you are you are, but it don`t have to be broadcast to the whole world, I know not all do that, but some act silly about it.

The Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, and Transgendered sect of society is the most hated in america because american bigots have run out of targets. No longer can women be oppressed. No longer can black people be oppressed (blatently at least). It's down to us to entertain the haters. I'm just gonna dust my shoulders off. Here's what I think gay people shoud do. Become complete criminals. I mean, if we're already going to hell for doing something that completely harms no one, then why not get the most out of our scentance to hell? Steal, kill, and just be plain mean. Because people that do these things seem to be completely ignored by religious groups. Maybe if we start being awful criminals, christians will leave us alone.....

People are jealous of gays for two reasons: 1- people fear what they cannot control... and 2- most people are jealous of anyone who goes against the grain and does what makes them happy. People need to realize that we're not going anywhere and we want to live our lives just like everyone else, but if they want to live with hate in their hearts, I got nothing for them.

Well, they aren't really the "most hated". There are communities that receive more hostility than those who enjoy consensual sex between two adults of the same gender. For example, those that enjoy sex between one adult, and one child, of the same gender.

NAMBLA (North American Man-Boy Love Association) is a group of self-professed "boy-lovers". They consider themselves to be "another oppressed sexual minority," just like lesbians and gays, etc. And they are definitely more hated than the gay community.

You can say that this hatred is deserved, but of course these people don't "choose" to be attracted to underage males any more than anybody else chooses who they are attracted to.
You (and most other people) probably think these people are "sick". You probably wouldn't want one living next door to you, because you don't understand them; their desires are totally alien to you.

That's pretty much how the social conservatives feel towards all homosexuals: they don't understand, and it makes them uncomfortable. They are afraid to admit their ignorance, so they blame the gay community.

(Note: I'm not advocating nambla's position; I just think it's a good parallel for understanding how other people think.)

I'd like to thank Grey dog, above, for proving my point. He has no fricking clue what he is talking about, yet does not let it stop him from having a stong and bigotted opinion. His ignorance makes him uncomfortable, so he assumes it is the gay community that is at fault.

People hate what they don't understand, dear. I know I haven't done anything wrong to anyone for being gay, but that doesn't change the way most people perceive the LGBT community. This particular "fear" is based on ignorance, cruelty, and reinforced negative stereotypes. It's not fair, sweetie, but the only thing that most of us can do(whether your gay or straight)is learn how to accept folks for who they are and keep on living! This is a big world that we live in, and it takes all kinds to make it go 'round. Hope this helps, hon. Be well!

It isn't the most hated culture. actually, there is a hierarchy even within queer culture. Gay men and lesbian women are at the top of the hierarchy and enjoy many priviledges. Sometimes this hierarchy is actually used to oppress queer identified people who identify differently (not gay or lesbian) by others who are higher up on the latter.

Take for instance, bi-phobia, poly-phobia and trans-phobia etc.. These do not just occure within heterosexual communities.

Education is key to advocating for human equality.

ps as a note, homophobia is actually a form of gender enforcement ^_~ also see links below.

hehe i'm shocked i got a thumbs down from someone. I wish it came with an explanation (i can be reached at either of the following links)

The reason why some people are homophobic, is they are unsecure about their own sexuality. Some people think it is some sort of disease which you can catch. In other words people think that if they are around gay people they will become one. That is just saying that they are unsure about what they are.
