the type pc's that are not a tower and lay flat and under the monitor?..
are they better or worse that tower pcs?..i like them.

i see some people saying desktop pc's..so a desktop pc goes on the desk..and i'm assuming a tower goes down below?

Get a Tower that goes above the desk if you have the space.. why? Because with Towers you usually have more options to grow the computer as time goes on .. you can add more things to a Tower ,. it has more space in it to add new hardware. Go with a Tower. Good luck ! :)

I think they were called flat PCs as opposed to tower PCs. but a tower PC has better ventilation and takes up less space (footprint). So, the flats are obsolete (probably).

No difference. (There is not a seperate name.) It's just the type of computer case. Tower computers are just far more popular because it's much easier to open it up and add new cards or change hardware. And now that most coputers have several different cards: modems, ethernet, sound, video, etc. and often atleast two CD drives, the extra vertical space is needed.

It is also CPU (central processing unit)...Pentium III and models before came flat. But now again new PIV comes with a cabinet which can be used either as vertical tower and horizontal!

Desktop rig. 'Bout the same, either way. Towers tend to have more space for expansion.
