Before you send the cover letter, do some research. Find out who you're sending it to. Dear Sir or Madam does not cut it. You write the letter to the exact person who will be receiving it. Editors are listed in magazine mastheads, and in writers guidelines, and usually online on a magazine's website. READ THEIR SUBMISSION GUIDELINES.

If you don't bother to even find out who you're mailing to, why should they bother to read it?

I am so delighted that you are requesting my article. I am very pleased to know that you would like to receive it.

Dear Sir or Madam:

It is with utmost pleasure and pride that I send you my article.

That sounds good to. I would go with that one. Go with your first instinct. Just don't use to many non-English-like words. Dare isn't something that we use in a sentence to often like that.

The action picture could be a stable thank you to get the gist of the story in a quick time-physique; yet to rather understand the story in sufficient intensity to jot down a checklist on it, you fairly might desire to study it. Books supply an author extra scope wherein to boost the characters and the story line. through time and fiscal constraints, of the action picture media and the temperments of the actors, a good number of the author's purpose gets lost interior the approach. there have been 2 impressive exceptions to this rule in my lifetime: the action picture Ferenheight 452 with the help of Ray Bradbury, and the modern-day Harry Potter video clips. The Lord of the rings series became additionally rather stable, nevertheless it did deviate from the unique works particularly. on the final, I plenty want books to video clips, as quickly as I even have the time to study. persist with the e book and you gets a extra suited grade interior the top.

Just my opinion, but I'd avoid that syrupy language. Be concise and business-like.

"Mr. [insert name here]

I'm submitting the enclosed article for your consideration."

Of course, depending on the market you could go the other way and write it as flowery as you can.

"Dear sir, my heart doth leap with joy
To speak with you regarding
A missive taut, that I have wrought
And you won't be discarding."

On second thought, maybe it's best to stick with bussiness-like. ;)
