this is a simple procedure of installing a printer network ,go to printers and faxes on the machine which currently uses the printer ,highlight the printer you are wishing to share, and on the left click "share this printer, this will take you through a wizard that will configure the printer so both you and your son can use it
companys like netgear and belkin are now doing network printer hubs that are making the job of printer sharing much easier
good luck

you need a router to connect the two pcs together in what is called a network. Some routers have inbuilts printer networking cards but a lot don't. If you don't you just right click on the printer in the control panel and check share printer. Give a name. This will now be available to anyone on the network. Your son would just hit his print button would print on your printer as if it was attached directly to your his computer. Only thing is that you must have your computer turned on or it won't print.
If you have a router with inbuilt printer networking then you don't need to have your computer turned as it is the router will be handling the requests.

What kind of network (if any) have you got set up in this house? To achieve this without wires anywhere you'll need both your computer and his to be on the same wireless network. There are loads of guides to setting up a simple wireless network on the web, try googling it. This is the only way really unless you use ethernet cables to physically connect all the computers to the same network OR to connect both computers to the printer via an adapter.

you need to get a wireless adapter for your printer. often you can buy the whole package to hook up several PCs on a printer through a network. You need an adapter for your printer and one for your son's computer. you wont need one for yours since you will be directly connected to the printer.
