When I flush, nothing goes down, and the water level continues to rise. What can I do to fix this problem? Thanks in advance for any helpful advice.

First, don't flush anymore. The toilet is clogged. If you flush anymore you are going to have water all over the bathroom floor. Get a plunger and use the plunger to unclog it. If that doesn't work you will need to get a plumber's snake to undo the clog. The plumbers snake feeds down into the toilet hole to reach and clear the clog. It should have instructions that come with it. If not, ask at the store how to use one before buying it.

First put a plunger in it. If that does not work, you will need to go to Home Depot or Lowes and ask for a snake to wire through your toilet system. They will explain how to use the device.
