Not really. War sucks. And it basically makes each side evil because they're both killing innocent people. That's just what I think. ..... oh yeah and. to be honest, the other side think we're evil right? they wouldn't think we're the good guys. so we can't really go and say we're on the "good side" because they think the opposite. all in all, war is just not a good thing.

This certainly is not a new question or quandary if you will. Not everything can be simplified into good or evil. As far as us (America) starting this war because evil was done to us - that, too, is debatable - thus all the debate. The planes knocking down the World Trade Center and killing thousands of people was an evil act. America went into Afghanistan to go after Osama Bin Laden and the Taliban who we believe was behind the attack. Many people felt that was justifiable. America invading Iraq because of bad intelligence and believed WMD - many people disagree with that.
There may always be good and evil. There are also many varying degrees and often dependent on circumstances. I'm not sure what your point is - that war is always inevitable because of it? I would hope - hope being the operable word here - that we - meaning us humans will continue to work towards lessening evil and increasing the good. Perhaps us "good" folks could focus our attention on lessening poverty, inequity and the like.

Don't you see that what you see as 'Good" is not somebody else's concept of 'Good'. You obviously do not think it is good to terrorise and kill innocent people but that is exactly what is happening in Iraq. The Iraqis did not hijack any aircraft and fly them into the WTC they were mostly Saudis, in the name of 'Good' surely you should bomb them as well!
Instead a country has been invaded and a leader that the USA supported and assisted into power has been overthrown. Can you not see? To a lot of the Iraqis ,the US put in power the tyrant that was killing his own people, the US invaded once and did not get rid of the tyrant and then when they have invaded it has not been at the request of the UN, no weapons of mass destruction were found and a lot of very innocent Iraqi women, children and men are dying every day.
These people are asking the same question as you. They are good people they want to give their family and friends love and live in peace. I guess the way they see it is that the US is not saving THEIR country from 'Evil' but are the power that has inflicted 'Evil' on it.
If people looked at things from the other persons perspective and everybody walked that yard extra to meet in the middle then maybe we could all live in peace, wouldn't that be great!
Then it would only be a few of the extreme nuts that we would have to worry about and lets face it every Nation has their own fair share of them!

have you ever heard of the Arc of the Covenant? It was used by the Hebrews in battle to fight evil, a gift from God. Now this of coarse would mean that when it was used, God could clearly see evil and wanted to destroy it. Do you see any arcs in any modern armies? If not then surely God doesn't want to pick a side. And if he doesn't want to pick sides, then both sides are un-worthy of the title of good, hence all recent battles are evil vs. evil.
To me war is a lot more like deer hunting season, population control. Also, it's another way of making many rich men richer. The funds for peace are meek and limited, the funds for war are vast and unlimited.
Good vs, evil? Not in the past few thousand wars. And so no, I don't see what you're saying. Good question though, really got my wheels turning.

You should check out the "Table of Opposites" that Archimedes, in his wisdom, laid down.It basically shows as you argue that in many things you can't have one without the other. i.e. you can't have up without down, you can't have rich without poor etc. As regards war the problem is everyone is normally convinced (by their politicians or leaders) that theirs is a just war. It's the other side who are evil. Typical of this was the Falklands War. On both sides you had catholic bishops blessing the troops and the ships as they set sail.

True. Funny thing is, is that even if we decided NOT to go to war with anyone, that does not stop them from attacking us anyway, so we wont ever be able to get along with everyone. There are too many people that hate us.
