It depends what grades you got (i.e. how many points) and what university you want to go to and what course you want to do. You haven't given enough info really as there are so many variables.

As people are saying it is usually three-BUT many universities now offer places on a points basis-I got an offer from Sheffield Hallam for example, that only required me to get 240points I think it was, but with 2 or more complete Alevels. So if I had got 2 A grades (120points each) I could have got in with just that-but if like me that wasnt guarenteed/unlikely I suggest take up another subject of interest as an AS level (A at AS=60points) just to help make up points! Good luck!

It depends massively on what course and what uni you're applying for.
First go to
www.ucas.ac.uk
You can look at courses and entry requirements. Doing two full A-levels in one year is a big commitment as full time school students generally do 4 in two years, if you have a full time job then it is do-able if you are prepared to give up all your free time. I think two in two years would be much more realistic and easier to fit into exam timetables. The other thing to remember is if you are struggling to be able to afford to study A-levels then doing a degree will be even harder. Another thing to consider is some uni's offer a foundation degree program where you do a years study with them before you start your degree, obviously this offers access to people who are not qualified to start the course from scratch.

You need 3 a-levels 2 get in2 uni! The best way is 2 have an idea of what uni u would like 2 go 2, then c how many points you need 2 get 2 get on2 the course and c how many u can gain on your a-level course then go from there!

it takes 5 O-levels and 3 A-levels minimum in order to make it in the university, however these O and A levels should be in the field you are planning to get a degree on.

hey - if you have left school already and want to do a degree then quite a few people I know at my uni did an access course which was only a year long, if you have a university you want to go to why not ring them up and ask them about it!?!
Just a thought - could save you money and time if they do it
