This particular government keeps eroding our civil liberties - although for the sake of completeness I should point out that the last lot were doing the same thing on many occasions. There is too much of being a nanny and not enough of coming up with intelligent and forward-thinking solutions to problems. Maybe it'll get to the stage when discussions like this will not be allowed as being against the National Interest

There are a myriad of fines, fees and taxes that are collected from the American public. This entire process is based upon supposition that the populous at large will continue to unquestioningly pay these taxes - confident that people much wiser than we are will use these monies responsibly...but are they? I see my government following a variety of expensive, unsound pursuits. I see uneducated, inarticulate government leaders. I see an incredible deficit - not only financially but spiritually as well. I see the currency of my government becoming less and less powerful. I see the word 'democracy' losing its meaning. I see big business demanding far greater consideration than the average American citizen.

I find it interesting how the quality of life in Europe has been growing exponentially and yet they are reknown for having some of the highest taxes in the world... The difference, I believe, is that they do have people much wiser than we are who know how to use the money responsibly for the benefit of their environment as a whole...

KBR in Iraq is the biggest rip off to the taxpayers.. They hire any ole bubba to fill a job, so they can charge the taxpayer for their salary, plus their cut. This is the lazy job and hires the most uneducated people. KBR is putting the screws to the taxpayers.

Taxes, i think our tax system is slightly flawed. i am all for the fair tax. I dont agree that marrieds, parents and the poor get all kinds of breaks and even get more money back than they pay in. I also do not agree in deducs for the richer people either (i knew if i didnt point that out, i would get blasted by libs). No deducs or refunds for ANYONE, flat rate tax for all. period.
