Because marketing research has shown that zombies who will use the snooze button more than 9 times don't really need a clock in the first place.
> Why is the "snooze" button on your alarm clock only good for 9 minutes?

Hell - I would love the alarm clock you are talking about. My snooze button is only good for 4 minutes at a time.

one in all mine has a 5 minute snooze, the different has a 10 minute snooze. What i don't comprehend is the snooze mode that activates the radio for fifty 9 minutes. It fairly pisses me off as quickly as I by risk hit that button.

Maybe it has something to do with 9 being the largest single digit block of time, i.e. 10 is 2 digits? Maybe "studies have shown" (aka the infamous "they") that any more than 9 minutes and you start sleeping too deeply to awaken refreshed and alert?

Very good! Something I've wondered about. Why do we get cheated out of the extra minute ! So after twenty minutes, we're cheated out of two ! Not fair.
