You can keep anything as a pet. Will it be a good pet? I have no idea. Seeing that I'm from Louisiana and we don't have chipmunks here I would eat it.

watch it for awhile, but let it be free as soon as possible. if it's crippled, the cat might get him. look at the question from the short term and long term. if you can help it in the long term than do it! if it makes the chipmunk handicapped and the cat will get it then don't keep it. it depends how well it can survive. a chipmunk is a wild animal and has insists to be outside with trees.

you should probably go to a vet and make sure if it really has a broken leg or not. you could ask them what they think about keeping it. i hope the chipmunk will be ok!

My advice would be to take it to a vet and see how badly it's injured. And them release the little guy. There meant to be free. I know it sounds neat having one as a pet but, do you think its fare to put something in a cage thats meant to be free? It's great you guys cared enough to look after the little guy. I'm betting if you think about it you'll feel its best to return the little fellow to the wild knowing it'll be forever grateful.

Wild animals should be free. Maybe you can take the chipmunk to a humane place for help, then he can be set free.

You may not be able to keep it, but you may be able to save it's life. Look up a animal rescue shelter in your area or contact a vet.

i would reccomend taking the animal to a shelter.. if they can't help it, it may have to be put down.. but at least you'll know you tried to save it.. wild animals are not the best pets..

Until he heals, take care of him. Any animal that belongs in the wild, should stay in the wild.
