The blue color of the sky is due to Rayleigh scattering. As light moves through the atmosphere, most of the longer wavelengths pass straight through. Little of the red, orange and yellow light is affected by the air.

However, much of the shorter wavelength light is absorbed by the gas molecules. The absorbed blue light is then radiated in different directions. It gets scattered all around the sky. Whichever direction you look, some of this scattered blue light reaches you. Since you see the blue light from everywhere overhead, the sky looks blue.

hope this helps :)

When the sun's rays enter the atmosphere, the light waves slow down and bend to the blue part of the Visible spectrum making the sky appear Blue.

Transmitted light (from the sun, light bulbs, fire, etc) is made up of a spectrum of colors. The longest wavelengths of light are on the red end of the spectrum and the shortest wavelengths are on the blue/violet end of the spectrum.

So, why is the sky blue? It is because blue light from the sun strikes the air molecules and scatters and our eyes perceive it as blue. Blue in sunlight collides with air molecules and our eyes see it as blue. Sunlight collides with air, scatters blue wavelengths. http://www.why-is-the-sky-blue.tv/why-is-the-sky-blue.htm

Because the light from the sun (RGB) is filtered by our atmosphere (allowing more blue spectrum rays through) . The light should be white but because of our atmosphere we see a blue tinted sky.

i don't know for sure but i know there is a dilemma. thy don't know if the sky is blue 'cause it's a reflection of water or water is blue cause it's a reflection of the sky. it's not a scientifical answer but i considered it an interesting an funny point of view

it's not blue, it's actually transparent, because it's space, and contains the vaporous gases that are mostly transparent in color, but upon the light spectrum of the sun shining thru, it appears blue to the naked eye.... just as water is transparent, but if you look at it in a large mass, it appears blue doesn't it?

due to atmospheric refraction, blue colour gets scattered the most, so the sky appears blue

I dont know the whole entire story but this as much as I know.

The sun emits about 7 colors but we cannot see them all. The one thats most seen is the color blue.

easy!! the sun lets off light. Because of its positioning when refracted, (by the water in the air) the blue is seperatd out beyond teh rest and the sky remains blue,. (you know that objects get color becuase they can absorb that type of light.....)
