I currently have four pairs for shoes, two of which are for work, and I use them depending on what else I'm wearing. When I was a student, at one time I had only one pair of shoes! Is it a problem wearing the same pair of shoes everyday to the office, or should one always be changing?

Just to add some perspective, my ex-wife used to have about 30 pairs of shoes (and would insist on taking them all on holiday too!), can anyone beat that!

A man should at least have 2 pairs of dress shoes (maybe one black, one brown or both black but in totally different styles), 2 pairs of tennis shoes (one being all white and the other being dark or black), a pair of steel toe workboots (never know when you'll need them), a casual pair of slip ons that need no socks and a pair of house slippers...Total: 7. I excluded sandals and flipflops on purpose, I don't like mens sandals, they are not attractive and most of the toes I see in them aren't either.

Damn man you need a variety...so im sayin at least 8 pairs you gotta keep your look fresh...and people are goin to start thinking things about you if your wearing the same type of shoes everyday...trust me I no( but i have between 10-12 pairs of shoes) you know, white looks good with all outfits but why not have a pair of shoes that are specificly only for a couple outfits...THATS VARIETY...also you should get a new pair at least once every 2 or 3 months...especially if you dont keep your kicks that clean.......

It depends on what you are comfortable with wearing.

As an aside, I always look at a man's shoes and I'm sure others do as well. They speak volumes about a man. First and foremost would be how much he cares about his appearance to others. Also, how well off he is financially. If they are dirty or in ill-repair I have to wonder if those traits carry over into other parts of his life as well.

I would never question the expense paid for a well-fitted pair of shoes. If your feet hurt, your whole body hurts.

Now run along...

My husband thinks more than two (shoes, not pair) is overkill. But I have a friend who could probably add a room to his house just for his shoes.

One pair for dress, one pair for sport, one pair for casual and one pair for work sounds about right. But then, I'm not a guy, heh.

Bottom line is, however many you want and are comfortable with! :-)

I really don't think you should worry about quantity as much as quality. Who cares if you have 50 pairs of shoes as long as you like them all.
I have quite a few pairs of shoes for all different occasions and i love them all.
I wear the same shoes to work everyday and am not fussed at all about it as they are the most comfortable shoes for work.
As long as the shoe goes with what you are wearing its not really an issue.

As you know you can only wear one pair at once, but who is going to stop you buying more. A change of shoe is good for your feet.
