well at least yours started towards the end of your pregnancy mine started when I was at 4- 5 months along.... shortness of breath they have a name for it but cant remember but i went to the Dr. at least 6-7 times cuz of it but all they said is..... it is normal that a lot of women do this just to hang in there..... well that's easier said then done when you have a hard time breathing but at least you don't have that much longer to go.... Good luck.

I remember this stage of pregnancy. The baby is just getting so big that she/he is pushing up into your lung area and making it hard to breathe. Just try to move positions. Try lying down on your side for a while and baby may shift again and relieve some of the pressure. If your breathing gets worse I would recommend seeing your doctor or Nurse Practitioner. Often cities have a "nurses hotline" that you can call with medical related questions.
Good Luck!

I agree with the others. It's normal to have some shortness of breath from time to time when you have a baby pressing on your diaphragm. But to wake up and feel like you've just run a couple of miles I really don't think is normal. Please go to the ER and have yourself checked out. Good luck!!

Well, the fact is, if you ain't breathing well, neither you nor the baby is getting 100% 02 required. So I would see my doctor TODAY and find out if it's normal. If it is, then ask about sleeping positions that relieve the problem.
Good :Luck

Oh I feel for you. I had this with my first pregnancy. It's because the top of your uterus is pushing on your diaphragm. Just take things slow, and try to rest inbetween exertion. Your baby will drop soon and offer some relief because it will be lower in your pelvis. God Bless

Any time you're having a hard time breathing without good cause (i.e. you just ran two miles, smoked a fat cigar etc.) it would be a good idea to seek professional medical attention. You never know what it could be.

welcome to the reality of pregnancy. there isn't much that you can do to relieve it. the baby is growing and beginning to rest more on your lungs.
