I want your opinion, taken from news reports. Did his dyslexia have a bearing on the fact that he seemed slow to act?

I think he was just in shock to be honest. That shows in when he tried to read more but couldn't. I personally don't like him but I give him a pass on that because that would put anyone in shock.

Although it is obvious the Government knew what was going to happen on 911, Since he was in a class room full of kids, he did not want to alarm them. I do believe this is why he had a delayed reaction. He also probably was thinking of a tactful way to leave without scaring the children. There is so much behind the truth of 911 and that dreadful day was in the making since the 70's and
the governments all played a part in allowing it to happen. I do not think they intended it to be so drastic, but they knew it was going to happen and they let it, so they could do what they are doing now with the peoples support. The truth behind the war is greed and power. We, as do many other countries, want control of their oil. The way they think to do this is by trying to form a democracy, making the Iraqi people believe we are there to free them and help them and by attacking the terrorist. We will never successfully rid all terrorist, as the main countries that are supplying them we do not have a just cause to war with. These countries surround Iraq and are sending them in faster than we are taking them out. Also, these countries have support that would put an end to us, and we are well aware of this. Therefore, we must pull out and say the heck with it and just protect our borders from them. We need to not be so greedy and rebuild our own country and stay out of the middle east issues as much as is possible. Bring our troops back here and set them up on the borders to keep the terrorist out. This will mean tougher laws on immigrants and any foreigner trying to get into our country. I believe they should have to go through more extensive background checks before they are allowed to enter and if they even are related to a terrorist group, they should not be allowed in without 24 hour supervision from our military or something. This would not stop it all, but the majority of it will be in control.

Reports that I remember right after 9/11 were that the President was on Air Force One flying to a secret location, probably because at the time, reports were that the nation was under attack, which it was.
He was probably on the phone or in meetings with the joint chiefs of staff to get a briefing on the situation and don't forget he is the Commander in Chief of the armed forces,so my guess is that he was probably a pretty busy guy at the time.
The last thing I am sure that was on his mind was going on radio or TV to inform the public what was going on. The security of the country was at risk, and he was doing his job as our President.
Accusations of Bush will not assure a Democrat in the office next election, positive reinforcement of Democratic values will have to emphasized to insure that a Democrat is in office.
Republicans will turn these accusations around and make the Democrats look foolish come election time.
I wish these false allegations and rumors will desist because it will only hurt the Democratic Party.

There did seem to be some discrepancy in his reaction to his first knowing about it and when he actually did something about it. I think something of this nature would take priority over talking to some kids in a grade one class. One is never sure whether the press or the President were on the same page. It was a big event and anyone including George W. would have been setback on something like that. I am sure that those under him acted responsibly.

i think it was the fact that he had no idea what to do. the presidency was just a big vacation to him. everyone else was (and still are) running the show for him. he was frozen with the fact that he might actually have to do some real work and make his own decisions.
my favorite defense of him is that 'he fulfilled his commitment to the children'. hahaha. it would take 3 seconds to politely apologize and say he had a pressing matter and must, unfortuantely, cut short the reading. instead he sat there until a second plane crashed into the world trade center.

I think he didn't want to jump up and scare the pants off all them kids. The first plane was at first thought to be an accident, when the second hit he left quick enough. All the hate toward him over this is just liberal democrats being children and hateful because Bush kicked their butts in the election.

He was too busy reading a book to school children.
Haven't you seen Fahrenheit 9/11?
They show a secret service agent whisper in his ear that we are under attack and he just sits there and continues to read a childrens book. Sounds, about right to me. Simple book for a simple mind.

Let's face it, he is not qualified to be president. It is too much responsibility for him and he is overwhelmed.

He may have a slight case of Autism (or maybe they said it was Dyslexia.)----His father also garbled his words at times, so maybe it's inherited.
My opinion is that he has to wait until the "men who have no names" tell him what to do and what to say.
