I have been wearing panty liners through out most of my pregnancy due to the increase in discharge...this morning I changed my liner when I woke up...I just went to the bathroom and was changing it again and it all ripped apart from being so saturated..this is the first time it has happened to me...I took some of the pH strip stuff from the doctors office and I just rubbed it on the liner and it came back dark meaning positive. Could it be my water leaking? It's my first pregnancy so I am paranoid!! I am over 38 weeks along so I know it's ok to have the baby now if it is!

But when I test myself it comes out light meaning negative!

But every time I call or see a doctor they tell me I'll know if my water has broke because there will be a big gush and it will run down my leg!

You can indeed be leaking amniotic fluid (water). It does NOT have to be a gush of water. It wasn't a gush with me. It leaked slowly. Go to the emergency room if you think you're leaking your water. Too little amniotic fluid in the uterus for a long period of time is dangerous for the baby and you. Good luck!!

Go to the hospital. Even if you are not in labor you should just go and get checked out. What can it hurt? And it will ease your mind.
And if your sitting or standing when your water breaks the baby's head sort of forms a plug and not much fluid leaks out. It only "gushes" if lying down.

It's possible that you may be leaking. I know it happened to me when I 36 weeks and I ended up having my son at 37weeks. I lost my mucus plug right before I started leaking which can be easily missed or mistakened as discharge. So if the doctors aren't worried and you go to your weekly appoinments then I think your fine. It's normal to be scared with pregnancy I was throughout all three of mine, so just expect a strong beautiful healthy baby

I think your water broke.. you are in labor now.. talk to you doctor and go to the hospital.... all the best.. even if the water broke.. dont worry the baby will be OK

You might not feel a gush. You might just have a pinhole leak! Call your Dr. Sounds like its time!!!!
