Well when you attempt to do something it means you try to do something and uhhh...when you try to do something it means ...well you attempt to do something...so I guess they are pretty much the same except you use them differently sometimes....

FYI : Those two words may also mean endeavor....they are all synonyms.....=D

Try means one going on trying where as Attempt means only once or one time he tried.
