Does your scale need to be recallibrated? That may be the problem. A two pound difference from day to day is normal because of water retention, sweating, eating salty foods the night before, etc.... But if you don't know how to recallibrate your scale, you may need a new one.

Your weight varies during the course of the day. Try weighing yourself once a day at the same time each day, like in the morning before you eat or dress. That should be more constant.

In women who are having menstrual cycles, the levels of different hormones in the bloodstream can cause retention of fluid in the body. For instance, when estrogen levels are increased, fluid retention increases, and shows up as increased weight, and can be experienced as "bloating".
Also, eating foods high in salt can cause a lot of fluid retention, and this could show up as increase in weight with the differences in hormone levels.

Because you can gain and lose that much in water weight in that time. It's not fat gain. You can also gain that much close to your period, as women can retain water at that time.

Try drinking at least 2litres of water a day to minimize gain and to keep healthy.

actually your clothes weigh 3-5lbs and if you have or have not had a bowel movement makes a difference
