Soap and water are fine, alcohol is fine. Just make sure the cloth you are using is 100% cotton and does not have any checmicals on it...like fabric softener.

glasses come in either plastic or glass.
these days glasses are made with (if you ask for it) protection against UV rays and a special non-scratch coating (both come together). If you scratch the lens you will know because the glass/plastic lens will fog up and you won't be able to see well.
So I don't know what kind of glasses you have so it's difficult for me to suggest anything.
with "glass" you can use windex or alcohol....but if you have the tinted and plastic you might need a "special cleaner" that some doctor offices provide for you free of charge, and sometimes they just suggest a brand that you need to buy along with no-scratch tissues. If you don't have it though you can just run the glasses under cold water and shake and PAT dry the glasses with a soft towel.
With regard to nose pieces there are two types, slip and non-slip. both turn yellow with time. you can use alcohol on windex on a cloth to remove the oil with no problem.

When I worked for a plastic eyeglass lens molding company they had some simple rules they used. Put the glasses under warm running water. Put a drop of liquid detergent or a speck of soapy water on them. Move the cleaning stuff gently over the wet glass. Rinse it with clean water. Shake off the water and let it drip dry. Never rub glasses when they are dry and dirty, never use harsh cleaners (including alcohol) on them, and never scrub them after you clean them.

dont use little one wipes or particular show wipes, you will remorseful approximately it. via fact they leave a residue on the show, and while the sunlight hits it, or any easy it is going to mirror off and you will see this residue. the perfect ingredient that I even have got here upon is loose. a glasses cleanser fabric, wash it so there is not any dirt on it, ring it out and get as lots water as you probable can out, it might nicely be next to dry. now wipe over the show if there is any water left, use some tissue paper, and blot it dry. this could clean the show greater efficient then something! in case you hit upon that there is a obdurate mark, or some thing caught on the show, do the 1st approach, yet after ringing out the fabric, dab it on a bar of cleansing soap and then wipe, then wash the fabric and clean off the cleansing soap.

I always used alcohol on mine. If you have plastic lenses and are concerned (I'm not sure how alcohol affects this kind of plastic) use the cleaning pads made specially for glasses lenses instead.

There are special cleansing wipes you can buy at eye places (Lens Crafters) to clean then when they are especially dirty. Also, there is a dry wipe you can use over and over again that will not scratch your glasses.
