It started off to be kind to single mothers who suffered terribly while the men ran off and forgot them. Now the government and its agencies encourage it. The pendulum has now gone too far the other way.
The kind of thing you describe is the kind of thing that happens as a result, and messes it up for everybody, including those who cheat.

some do some don't, not everyone is dishonest however some people are, what can I say,
However I don't think the government activly encourges people to get married any more, which is a shame, as it does make a stronger commitment and therefore when things are getting a bit rough it does make you hang in there and not give up on the relationship, which when kids are involved, as they usually are is a good thing in most cases.

my friend is a single parent she and her partner split but are still good friends he gives her money everyweek to support his child, but he also has his own family
she trys to get by on benefits but it is very hard why do people like you think that its such a easy life foe single parents its not i can assure you the only ones who got it easy is the ones who lie

it is to the government's advantage to not have families keep them divided to make it easy to rule them. This is how capitalism works to the advantage of a few

being a single parent is hard belive me. when my husband left i losa everything. i got a jobthen car then new house for my daughter, i work dam hard and will hope to never have to get social but tell you what thw tax credits do help me. but as in anything theres always the ones who spoil it for the honest ones
