Absolutely not! All fashion rules are out the window now. Feel free to wear white any time of the year as you want. Fashion is rebelling!

First let's tackle the white shoes issue.

In my admittedly none-too-humble opinion, white shoes are for brides, nurses and kids making their First Communion. Period. Unless you really know how to pull an outfit together, white shoes are a fashion gamble. But if you insist on wearing them, NEVER wear them after Labor Day. Ugh.

White clothing? That's really about common sense plus what looks best, any time of year. We're not living by the hidebound fashion rules of yesterday, but consider the weather, the event and the look. White linen, white cotton, white cambric -- really, if it looks more like it should go poolside, to the racetrack, on the boat deck or out on the patio for sipping Cosmos, it's summer wear.

(Unless you're the bride, dear. Then you get to wear white ANY day of the year.)

Anyway, who needs white with all the yummy colors available for Autumn? Really, nobody's going to send you home if you turn up in a white linen blazer, but why would you want to do that when you could opt for a warm bittersweet shrug, a military-look blazer in olive drab or a sophisticated tweed jacket? ;-)

Not here in South Texas! I go by the climate. If you live in a warm climate, traditions such as this seems to be outdated.

Not me, I am planning to ride my tight white Wrangler jeans when I go line dancing next Friday night.

I suspect the old ones that still remember that subjective fashion rule still adhere to it, or people that are incapable of dressing themselves.
