I heard that there are actually 11 planet in this universe...But scientist are trying to invent another one to make it 12? Is that true? Why don't we just accept the truth?

In universe there are a infinite number of planets. If you mean in the solar system we got 8 planets...

According to the astronomers, there are 8 in our solar system and many more than 200 in the universe have been found.

Pluto is only a dwarf planet. Xena, Ceres, and Charon could have been named planets but they don't fit the new rules.

1. It must be spherical.
2. It must have a clear orbit.

Plus you should have asked this in the science astronomy folder.

I learned in school there was 9 planets that's including Pluto,but that's back when I was in 4th and 6th grade around 1994-1996.

In the universe we are not sure but if you are talking about our solar system now we only have 8

I do not care what those characters say about my friend PLUTO.. I still consider it a planet.. and so there are NINE planets in OUR universe. For interesting reading on this subject in OUR universe.. read the URL (website) below:

Where have you been, now there's ony 8, Pluto got booted. Whoever followed the strengths of Pluto, they're in trouble.

last I heard there was 8 now that pluto was downsized. They are talking about downsizing Uranus also.

i think now its 8. but they were talking about those dwarf planets. and theres this 1 called ceres. so idk. its hard 2 say right now
