Hmm. It sounds like he COULD be closeted, but there's really no way to tell unless you ask him - which is a bad idea, because he'll feel pressured and scared if he is gay. The best thing you can do is be there for him, and date other people, and if he comes around on his own time, you know it's meant to be.

I think a straight guy could fall for a gay guy. You can't deny what your heart feels. Like many have said earlier, ask him how he feels about you and take it from there. If he likes you then yay that's great, if he gets sort of offended explain to him where you're coming from. Don't force him to do anything he doesn't want to, if he wants to try it once again great if not then well not much you can do there. To each his own.

Ummm, it could be that he's deep in the closet, sweetie. The only way you can know for sure is to ask him how he really feels about you. If he digs you, then take it slow. If not, find someone who will want to be with you for YOU. Anything's possible these days. You're friend could be bisexual also. Just give it to him straight(pardon the pun). Good luck, baby!

Some people are born flirts and they love the attention of both sexes...He may or may not be one of these people..He could be a virgin for all we know..He may be gay..Do a bit of detective work.
Ask some of his other friends about him in a roundabout way...Or simply ask him why he doesn't want you to get married.
He may just give you the answer you need.
For your sake, I hope he is gay and that you are happy together. If not, I'm afraid you'll have to accept him as is and hope that you can handle being friends..I feel for you..Good Luck!

If he is truely straight, he can love you though not in the sexual context. As in love you as a great friend.

Else, I do believe he is a closet gay.

love is love. but do you want a relationship with a straight guy? i mean come on, he can love you but he could never sleep with you. love and lust mix but not that well. he'll never be in love with you romantically. that's the difference between love and in love- sex. love can persuade your penis, but not all the way over to another sexual persuasion. ask him if he's ever had any gay feelings. tell him if he ever had or does or will, that as his friend you would help him to explore them.

No, you are mistaking friendship for lust. Your heterosexual friend is not, has not, nor ever will be interested in having a homosexual relationship with you. I think if you tried to act on your feelings for him, you would lose a friend very quickly. If he was gay you would know it by now.

I think people fall in love with people... not with expectations, genders, or normality. People fall in love with the person, and to act otherwise to save face is only going to cause an unhappy life... TRUST ME
