Cliches...for eg. "fun is good", "play hard to get", "carpe diem", "live and let live" which is almost everyones favourite quote these days, "life is life" no honestly what else cud it have been...hmmm..."dont worry,be happy"...i wish we all could be ms,sunny sunshine...."Laughter is the best medicine"...dont we alll wish...

Those aren't cliches, those are idioms. Idioms are cultural expressions wherein the meaning of the expression, or use of it, is not deducible without common knowledge of the culture.
A cliche is something hackneyed and overused. Think of these:
It was a dark and stormy night.
He checked in every nook and cranny.
Military intelligence is an oxymoron.
As a general rule, if you are simply repeating the most common expressions you can think of, you are getting into cliche territory. For example, it is a cliche in rap/hip-hop to say: "Throw your hands in the air, and wave 'em like you just don't care!" That is a throwaway line that every average rapper uses to fill space.
