I predict that the last ground troops (apart form those assigned to the permanent Army and Air Force bases we will maintain at "the request" of the Iraqi government) will board a plane - to great fanfare - in August of 2008.
Hey, that's just before elections! But I'm sure it will just be a coincidence.

im thinking that the party will use it as something to stay in power for the next several years. bush could decare victory at any time, and spread some of the wealth here in the states. If iran keeps acting up, we could just head in and take those oil fields right now, which was basically the whole point of the operation, to break opec with cheap oil flooding the market, that is what bush wants to be remembered for.

No. We'll stay there forever to protect the oil companies' access to resources in the region.
We're already building at least 5 permanent bases.
We may cut troop in time for an October, 2008 bombing of Iran, though.

NO! He planned this invasion before he even came into office.
We will stay until we win (regardless of the financil cost or cost in lives), then just like we did with Japan and Germany after WWII, we will establish a PERMANENT military base....our foothold in the Middle East.
In the meantime, he will continue to INSTIGATE the surrounding country's political turmoils, and push for an INCREASED American military presence in all of the anti-American Middle East countries.
POWER, CONTROL, and PROFIT.

I think we'll hopefully be able to pull out soon, seeing as Iraqi security forces are gradually becoming stronger.

I do agree with you. But U.S., citizens will not allow Mr. Bush, to get sacrified / killed our soldier, for his selfishness, without any reason.
Iraq has become worse than Veitnam.
