In 1963 Laura Welch, age 17 (now Mrs. George W. Bush) was reported to have stuck another car in an intersection. Laura Welch's speed was not determined, but she and her passenger, also 17, suffered only minor injuries and she was not charged, so presumably she was not speeding. Her classmate, Michael Douglas, 17, was in the other car, a small Chevrolet Corvair. He fell out of the car (evidently not belted in) and died of a broken neck.
Conclusions:
#1. Young inexperienced drivers have accidents.
#2. Drivers who don't wear seat belts get killed.

Yes in 1963 when she was 17. It was an accident and no charges were ever filed, The person killed was her boyfriend.
Many of us have accidents everyday, it is sad and no one ever gets over it, but there is no reason to be prosecuted or punished. I am sure there was an insurance settlement over the accident. She was not married to George Bush at that time.
Of course for all of your Bush haters, why not accuse George for cuasing the accident to get rid of her current boy friend so he could go after Laura.

No, it is not true that she was. It is true that spiteful little liberals like to dredge up anything they can to harm Bush. She wasn't prosecuted, no charges were filed and it was declared an accident, albeit tragic. You either need to do more research or you are just a very small man, not in stature, in your mind.
Is it true that Slick and Hildebeast murdered Vince Foster? I think that's probably just as true as Laura Bush murdering her boyfriend.
What about that Chappaquiddick blowhard? Did he murder Mary Jo Kopechne?
I'll end with this account of Laura Welch's accident, you all decide on your own:
On Nov. 6, 1963, then-17 year-old Laura Welch was driving with a friend on a Midland, Texas highway. In a cruel twist of fate, her high school boyfriend Michael Douglas, a popular football star, had just entered one of the town's most dangerous intersections driving another vehichle, when Laura's car slammed into it.
Douglas suffered a broken neck and was DOA at Midland Memorial hospital. Laura was unhurt while a girlfriend riding with her suffered only minor injuries. Exacerbating the tragedy, Douglas' dad was following his son in a separate car and came upon the accident scene immediately after it happened.
Said a former friend, "We were devastated. Laura stayed out of school for a month or two after the accident." Another old friend told Star, "We never talked to Laura about what happened. Nobody did. She never broached it with me and no one was going to bring it up if she didn't."
Despite the shroud of secrecy that still surrounds the accident, her high school buddies give Laura Bush high marks for the way she's handled herself since. Bill Sallee, who was a good friend of Mike Douglas in the months before he was killed, told Star that Mrs. Bush hasn't let the tragedy keep her from attending high school reunions.
"She stood out in the middle of the dance floor and danced with anybody who wanted to dance with her," said Sallee. "She was out there 'til late and I thought that was above and beyond what she needed to do. That tells you what kind of lady she is."

She was involved in an accident. You are the one labeling it vehicular homicide. Why is that? What are you hoping to accomplish?
Have you ever done anything accidently? Anything? Oh wait, you are above something like that, aren't you.
What about Ted Kennedy and Chappaquiddick? What about Police diver John Farrar's testimony suggesting that Mary Jo Kopechne survived for as long as two hours in the submerged automobile by breathing a pocket of trapped air. What about how Senator Kennedy spent the nine hours after the accident attempting to cover-up his involvement, while Mary Jo Kopechne was left to die in his submerged automobile.
This is what Senator Kennedy had to say in 1973, 4 years after the "accident"..
" Do we operate under a system of equal justice under law?
Or is there one system for the average citizen and another for the high and mighty? "
~ Senator Ted Kennedy, 1973
PS... *LOL* No Sway, I am not trying to spin. The spin came from the author of this thread who attempted to portray Laura Bush as some kind of homicidal murder. My point is simply, if an accident such as the one that Laura had is suppose to rile the reader and make the Bushes look bad then where is the anger at what happened with Teddy... as you call him.
Laura Bush caused an accident where someone lost their life. She did nothing to try and cover up her accident. she has never denied what happened and she has never tried making excuses. She does not deserve what the author of this thread tried to accomplish. Amazing how you can't even say that. Who's spinning?
You gotta train these youngsters better Sway.. If you want them to make inflamatory untrue statements made to degrade someone then you need to teach them how to do it without having their statements impeached!
