They should have been the ones who manufactured the Indian Motorcycle, but the USA beat them to it, 50 years ago.
I don't see India making motorcycle super bikes, when people are still living in the past over in india.

Because the income of the average indian does not allow him to purchase a superbike. In India bikes are a mode of transport for people who cant afford cars. Also we are obsessed with brand names, and nobody would buy an Indian superbike when they can buy one made by a japanese co. I wanted to start a custom chopper manufacturing co. but I dropped the idea when I saw that there was no purchasing power or demand in India.

India doesnot have the potential to manufacture super bike ... they donot want to take risks ........... they just want to sell bikes like CT100 which give 100 kms mileage and earn money .....they cannot think beyond that ........ + the indian roads r not in a position to handle super bikes coz super bikes need super roads which India cannot even have in it's dreams !!!ha haha

India is a society concerned mostly with practical things and spiritual things.
Superbikes are toys for rich people with a lot of leisure time. As India gets richer, some company there may start to make superbikes. Right now it's easier to just import a few for the rich people who want one.

Indian industries capable to manufacture, but the point is cost.
For the same price people can afford car. See we can buy electronic toys imported from China at the price of Rs.50.00, why not Indian products?. The reason being manufacturing expenditure.

Because super-bikes, as useless as they are, cannot be made out of the building materials that they have in India. It takes plastic and tin to build one of them, not cameldung and straw.
