I did this 2 years ago with Thompson and wanted to know if I needed to do it again this year. Thanks.

My brother has cedar shingles and does his every third year but I'm sure that the weather conditions and the type of climate you have where you live would be a factor. Usually companies recommend 1 year sooner then actually required.

Western Red Cedar contains natural oils that act as a wood preservative to resist insect attack and decay. It exhibits high dimensional stability and contains no pitch. Properly pre-treated, installed, and maintained Western Red Cedar siding can enhance a home's exterior for 50-70 years.

Manufactures Lie about the time frame needed to reapply. LOL. I would recommend that you retreat the cedar every two years. Mother Natures elements are hard on exposed surfaces. UV rays will have a major effect on it as well. EVERY TWO YEARS. Better to be safe then sorry.
