i'm a truck driver so i see a lot of remarkable things...but the most remarkable was about 18 yrs ago. i was crossing new mexico on I 10 east bound, and to the south side of the freeway there was a shadow of an airplane that was at least a mile and a half long. sounds like an hallucination. there were no planes in the sky and not a cloud to be seen. i was running with four other trucks and there was plenty of traffic going the other way. i finally couldn't stand it so i got on the radio and said, "does anybody see that besides me?"...there was a moment of dead silence and finally a voice came in strong and loud, "yes, I won't tell if you won't!" ....lol

Ok the babies being born, but that's a long time ago for me. More recently, my friend and I were on a walk around a lake when we saw a turtle up on the bank right next to the footpath. We saw that it was digging a hole and figured it was a female about to lay eggs, so we stayed to watch and to protect her from any harm. She was totally in a trance. We stood right by her for an hour while she got the job done.
First she dug the hole with her back legs as deep as she could reach. Then she laid 7 eggs- one at a time. After each one, she pushed in a little dirt. This all took about half an hour. Next, she began to fill in the hole. When that was done, she reached back with her hindfeet and pulled dry dirt and twigs onto the wet dirt. When she had finished, you couldn't tell there had ever been a hole. Finally she headed over the bank and back into the water. My friend and I were flabbergasted at being able to witness something that few get to see.

My significant other is going to kill me when she sees this but one of the most remarkable things I ever saw was in Manchester (UK) city centre when the most beautiful woman I have ever seen literally stopped the traffic.

Switzerland; I was at Zurich in the city and I took a bus/tram thing to the mountains and I fell asleep and when I woke up, I was sooo amazed, much different than the city. The city was burning and the mountains became so heavenly!

i know i only saw it happen on live TV but the collapse of the twin towers NYC i cannot even imagine how tall they were and i was horrified to see the people still in the buildings as they came down the way the people of NYC had to be strong in those dark days and they were. the images will stay with me forever.

I once saw a man walking down the street with absolutely repulsive looking tangled up hair - and peeping out the back of it was a rat. It was obviously his pet (I hope, anyway) and it is the only time in my life that I have ever stopped in the street and stared at somebody.

I was driving on the expressway and there was a man walking in the right hand lane. As he walked he was taking off his clothes one by one. I went over a hill as he was hopping to take off his shoe. I still wonder what was wrong with that guy and if he succeeded in taking off all of his clothes before he got caught or run over.
