Some girls experience more pain than others while losing their virginity. The reason for the pain is that a thin piece of skin called the hymen covers part of the vaginal opening. When the penis enters the hymen is ripped. However, some girls have unknowingly stretched or torn their hymens before sex by inserting a tampon or doing exercise such as horseriding, and so losing their virginity is less painful. It's also less painful if the girl is aroused, so that her vagina is moist. It might also be a good idea to use some lubricant, and the guy should be as gentle as possible.
I would say only in very rare circumstances is losing your virginity extremely painful. Usually all the girl experiences is mild discomfort, nothing to worry about.

it doesnt have to hurt...if your doing it for the first time with someone you love and loves you back.....it can be very invigorating and somewhat painless..
you both must take time and be careful...dont rush it...take your time and talk thru it together
