I just got out of a love relationship, with someone that I thought Id be with forever. Ive been going through rough times, not sleeping at night, missing him constantly. Friends and family tell me to get over it because im here crying my eyes out, while he is probably moving around with friends and not thinking of me. Is it true that guys get over relationships faster?

everyone is different, this isn't a gender specific trait. you could find examples for each side of the argument with either gender.
Sorry you got hurt and disappointed. But know that you had good intentions, pure motives and feelings. Your good heart will belong to another who is more fitting and deserving of your love.
Smile and go forth knowing that you are capable if a sincere brand of love which is the most precious thing in the universe. someday he will look back and know what he missed out on,
but you are the one who is going to be better off. he wasn't right for you so in reality he did you a favor.
Believe in yourself!
Take care, and best wishes for the future:)))

I don't! It takes me awhile to really let a gal get into my heart and once she does, she owns a piece of it for a long time. Very long! I can move on, but I rarely can just dismiss a girl or the past whom I truly loved, unless she was a horror show. I had a few of those too and all of them forgotten! But most men I know can brush off a past relationship quite readily. Maybe that's good,
but it's not how I work...... But crying will not help you to recover.
Since it's so recent, it is a bit understandable. But...... Get on with you life and you will find a new and special person. They are all out there waiting for you!

It depend on the love that was share by you both. If his love for you not as strong as yours was for him then you will hurt more. Usually the person who initiated the break up first will get over the relationship faster because in their hearts they already accepted the lost before it started. I wish there was some pill or drink that will make it easy for people that lost a relationship but there is not. Only time will help you to move on.

I don't think it's either man or woman. I mean I have been in some relationships I got over in a week but then there are some where the other party got over it and i'm still trying to move on. It just depends on how much you care for that person.

History lesson. Women remember longer. Not sure how long but I think it is forever from what I have seen.

Men on the other hand can remember that long at all.

He is not over you but most likely will be faster than you. That is unless he is still in love with you. If that is true he will be hopeless for a very long time.

Only if they had no feelings for the girl. If they truly cared for her it takes them a long time to get over the relationship. I have seen so many questions on here about guys trying to get a girl back because they are not over her.

NO!
I fell in love with a lady over 6 years ago.
She disappeared 2 years ago with no word. There isnt a night that I lay awake wondering about her.
I am still in love with her.
It depends on the person, how quickly their heart heals.

No idea if they get over it faster. It probably just depends on the person. I know your family and friends are trying to get you to snap out of it and to get over him... but they do not always understand that it's not easy. You will get over him, it just takes patience and time. Keep yourself busy to prevent thinking of him.

On the outside yes. On the inside it's a different story.
