Honey is NOT a natural bleach. It simply contains nutrients that are good and revitalizing for your skin. Adding either salt or sugar that does not dissolve in the honey makes the mixture a good exfoliant- which scrubs away dead skin cells and dirt. This will make your face appear brighter and healthier... which could possibly be the source of the myth that honey bleaches skin. A scrub with this every other day can help minimize the appearance of facial hair, but will not make a significant difference. Try a depilatory such as nair (they sell some special for the face)

No, please don't use salt especially on the face. It is too abrasive and makes tiny scratches. Sugar makes a better scrub, either white or brown it is up to you. Nothing like that will remove facial hair. You need to pluck, wax, or get lazer treatments to remove unwanted hair. I don't see how honey can bleach skin--- lemon will lightly bleach, or they sell skin-lightening cremes that work. Milk is very softening and also may have some slight lightening properties. It really softens though, try adding a cup of powdered milk plus a cup of epsom salts to your bath .. your skin will feel like a babies. I think the softening properties come from the lactic acid in the milk. You could also add some milk powder (cow or goat) to your sink water for your face. A paste of honey and ground oats will sooth itchy or irritated skin. Good luck.

A really good facial scrub is baking soda. It's gentle, inexpensive and has natural softeners for the skin. I use it every night, sometimes mixed with my liquid facial soap, sometimes alone.
Don't use salt! Too abrasive and drying.

Honey is excellent for the skin and the salt would give it just enough "grit" to exfoliate.

The best facial scrub I've made at home is when you mix:
avocado
sugar
salt
yoghurt
After you've massaged this on your face, leave it on for a minute or two.
Try it, you'll love it :)

People have come out with all of these silly combos to help skin or hair or anything! Just stick to the store bought products. These are professionals making these and you know you can't go wrong. Who knows about the home-made things but I really wouldn't risk it!!!!
