I have a 94 volvo 940 and heres what I have hd done:
-alignment done and then redone
-tires balanced
-arm-shaft replaced rt front
-strut replaced
-rt front rotor turned
-rt front brake line replaced
My car drives smooth fro a while at all speeds, then suddenly at 40 miles or higher it starts virbating..........it is sporatic. Any ideas??

Double check all your tires to see if they are out of round, have bumps, or the rims are not true. The best way to do this is to jack up the car and manually spin each tire.
If you spin them using the engine, be very careful and clock/block your other wheels, so the car doesn't run away.
BTW, if you replace running gear on one side of the car, you should replace its mate on the other for safety sake. That includes struts, rotors, brakes, tires, etc. Mismatched items can cause vibrations also.

i dont know much about Volvo's. but maybe it is tire rod ends? but im not sure. i had a toyota that did that. i replaced the tire rod end and it stopped.

Are all the bushes in good condition? Make sure there is no play in any joints

who did your alignment? if it was done at a shop they should have checked all the steering components, if any are bad the alignment is no good
